NORTH WALES, PA – The Solana Horsham, a Brookdale assisted living community, will celebrate its grand opening on May 23 with a special event, “Rolling out the Red Carpet.” Inspired by the grandeur and glamor of Hollywood, the themed celebration will feature live entertainment and refreshments.

“We are so excited to introduce our beautiful new senior living community to North Wales,” said Kimberly Cahill, executive director. “We’re looking forward to celebrating our grand opening with our residents, their families and neighbors from the area. With live entertainment and delicious food, we hope this glamorous event captures some of that famous Hollywood magic.”

The Solana Horsham is managed and operated by Brookdale, the largest owner and operator of senior living communities in the United States. Clare Bridge, Brookdale’s Alzheimer’s and dementia care program, is designed to help ensure “Daily Moments of Success” for each of its residents. The community also offers on-site therapeutic services, including physical, speech and occupational therapy.

The Solana Horsham features both assistive living and memory care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases, providing Brookdale’s signature dining services and its unique culture. The community delivers a full complement of programs and services to help each resident enjoy a lifestyle of wellness and fulfillment.

BLUE BELL, PA — Montgomery County Community College is hosting a special art exhibition May 22-June 20 featuring the Philadelphia Sketch Club (PSC): Continuing 150 Years of Artistic Excellence at the College’s Fine Arts Center, Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

A “Meet the Artists” reception will be held Wednesday, June 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. Both the exhibit and artists’ reception are free of charge and open to the public.

Approximately 100 pieces of art, representing PSC’s membership of more than 200 professional and non-professional artists, will be displayed through a diversity of mediums, from watercolors, oils and mixed media to photography and sculpture.

PSC, located at 235 S. Camac St., Philadelphia, provides a meeting place for artists where they can share ideas and network with fellow artists. Founded in 1860, PSC is one of America’s oldest clubs for artists. Its membership list includes American masters such as Thomas Eakins and Thomas Pollock Anshutz.

This premier show and sale of contemporary craft, includes 195 of the finest and most dynamic craft artists in the United States, selected from more than 1,300 applicants. British and Irish artists will be featured. All work is for sale.

The 36th annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is organized and coordinated by Chair, Lisa Woolbert; Vice-Chair, Laura Rothrock and Nancy C. O’Meara, Show Manager.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is presented annually by the Women’s Committee and Craft Show Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the benefit of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Funds raised are used to purchase works of art and craft for the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to fund conservation and publication projects, and to support exhibitions and education programs.

Selected from more than 1,300 applicants, this premier exhibition and sale of contemporary American craft includes 195 of the best craft artists in the United States. This year a group of British and Irish Contemporary Craft Artists will be featured.

The emerging artist category, now in its fifth year, showcases the work of artists new to the field. The 2012 show participants will be posted here by June 15, 2012. There is excitement in every booth at the Show, with the crafts exhibited embracing a striking variety of forms and functions.
