PHILADELPHIA, PA — Do these police officers look more like the defensive line of a professional football team than they do a bike patrol?

That is because the Philadelphia Police Department uses bicycles as weapons not fitness equipment. During the eviction of Occupy Philly, the bike patrols injured and maimed multiple protesters with their bikes. After forming a line with the bikes, officers move the bikes towards citizens. Eventually, people get caught up in the gears. Police officers then puncture limbs with the sprockets.

These pictures were taken on Federal grounds at the Liberty Bell during the Smoke Down #9 protest.
