PHOENIXVILLE, PA — the 13th Annual Phoenixville Firebird Festival was held on December 3, 2016. The entire town joins in the celebration with over 20 bands playing throughout the business district. What musicians were not playing inside could be found on the streets and marching in the parade. A drum brigade, firebird dancers and a marching band led the procession from town to the fire location. There a two-story tall wooden bird was set ablaze.

PHILADELPHIA — Every year the WMMR morning radio crew, Preston & Steve, hold a food drive to help feed hungry people in the Philadelphia area. They broadcast their show from inside a tent set-up at Xfinity Live next to the stadiums in South Philly. The many tons of non-perishable food items collected benefit Philabundance.
Plenty of celebrities and bands lend their support. This year The Record Company performed a free concert for anybody that made a donation. The Record Company is a hard rocking blues band out of Los Angeles, CA. Bassist, Alex Stiff, is a native of Wayne, Pennsylvania.

Valley Forge National Historical Park was created to preserve our nation’s history and tell the story of the Continental Army during the winter of 1777-78.
As the winter weather turned more severe, Washington started moving his troops to Chester County. He hoped Valley Forge would offer the army a better place to build log cabins and supply the troops. On December 11, 1777, Washington pulled out of the Whitemarsh area. By December 18th, they had arrived in Valley Forge.
