POPULAR BIRD WALK RETURNS TO GLEN FOERD

Come join us on Saturday, September 28th, @ 7:00am for an enjoyable and educational walk around the grounds of Glen Foerd. The fall walk is an excellent chance to learn about area birdlife and enjoy one of the beautiful green spaces remaining in Northeast Philadelphia. The walk will be led by experienced birdwatcher and local educator Frank Windfelder. The program begins at 7:00am in the Glen Foerd mansion and ends at about 9:00am. Light breakfast will be provided. Dress casually and wear comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are recommended.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Twenty-one dead dolphins have washed up on the New Jersey shore in the last month. “At this point, we don’t know the cause,” said Maggie Mooney-Seus, a spokeswoman with NOAA.

The problem is occurring all along the East Coast. Forty-four dolphins have died on Virginia beaches. In total, over 120 dead dolphins have been found.

July 28, 2013 was a record rainfall day for the City Of Philadelphia with over 8 inches being recorded at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Power to the airport’s terminal A failed causing delays for many flights.

The rainfall made July the wettest July in history. June was also a record month for precipitation.
