In cooperation with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Major Crimes Unit and the East Norriton Township Police Department have joined efforts to protect children from internet predators. In addition to his regular duties as an East Norriton Township Police Department Detective, Detective Michael Henricks was recently sworn as a Special Montgomery County Detective by District Attorney Ferman. His specific enforcement focus, relating to ICAC, involves detecting and arresting child predators who utilize the internet as a tool to meet and sexually assault child victims.
In January 2015 Detective Henricks became involved in an undercover, electronic communication exchange with defendant Kurt Krumpholz. It was immediately apparent Krumpholz’s intent was to commit illegal acts.
On Monday, January 19, 2015 the ongoing undercover communications resulted in Krumpholz requesting to meet with whom he thought to be a 14 year old boy and his 13 year old male friend. Krumpholz’s proposed purpose for this meeting was for him to perform oral sex on two underage children.
On Monday, January 19, 2015 at 4:25 PM Krumpholz arrived at the agreed upon meet location, the Friendly’s Restaurant, 150 West Germantown Pike, East Norriton Township, Montgomery County. Upon his arrival at the Friendly’s Restaurant, he entered the restaurant in search of the two victims he believed he was meeting. After not finding them, Krumpholz quickly left but was met by law enforcement before he could re-enter his vehicle.
